Harriet Monsees, 97, of Greeley, died on May 8, 2017, at her home in Greeley.
Harriet was born in Richmond, KS to Harry and Marion (Whetstone) Gault on April 15, 1920. She was raised in Richmond, graduated from Kansas University, then was commissioned in the United States Army Nurse Corps in 1945. Harriet was deployed to France, where she spent two years healing wounded servicemen & women. Harriet continued her nursing career at NCMC until she retired as a Nursing Supervisor in 1982.
In March 1950, Harriet married Walter Monsees in Denver.
Harriet was an avid RV enthusiast who loved traveling, and volunteering for Meals on Wheels and Eldergarden-Greeley.
Harriet is survived by her sons, Tim (Ellen) of Greeley, and Mike (Lynne) of Franktown; grandchildren, Bryan of Denver, Kelli (Barry) Burns of Texas; great grandchildren, Bethany Onnen, Nicholas and Jacob Burns; and great-great grandchild, River Onnen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 3 siblings.
