Claire Donovan Scott

Claire Donovan Scott passed away on Oct. 4, 2017. He was born on June 19, 1936, to Ralph John Scott and Grace Evans Scott in Brush. He spent his childhood in Fort Morgan, Kremmling and then eventually moved back Brush where he learned the electrical craft from his father.
He graduated from Brush High School in 1954 and attended Colorado University in Boulder for 2 years where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He left school and joined the US Army Reserves and was later honorably discharged. He moved to Greeley where he eventually found employment at Herdman Electric where he was one of the first electricians to take and pass the state exam for licensing. He was a partner in Burch Electric Co for several years and then in 1976 he started C.D.S. Electric. He had over 60 years experience in the electrical business, was very skilled, and always took great pride in his work. He served on the Greeley Electrical Board of Appeals for many years.
He married Nancy Boden in 1961 and they had three children, Michelle, Douglas, and Craig. He married Carol Sue Hunt in 1980 and became stepfather to her three children, Allan, Cathy, and Ann who he raised as a family with his own children. He married Nancy L Kerr in 1991.
Claire had a love for the outdoors that he shared with his children and step-children. He loved camping, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed attending Mountain Man Rendezvous, dressing up in period clothes and peddling his wares. He was the proud owner of a Cessna 182E that he loved to fly over the mountains. He even ventured into northern Canada for a fishing trip.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph John Scott; mother, Grace Evans Scott; younger brother, Lyle Scott; and infant brother, Merlyn Scott.
He is survived by former wives, Nancy Railsback, Carol Sue Scott, and current wife Nancy L Kerr-Scott; three biological children Michelle Scott of Eaton, Douglas (Jennifer) Scott of Colorado Springs, and Craig (Jennifer) Scott of Greeley; six grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) Harrison of Midland, Texas, Jordan Scott and Aidan Scott of Colorado, Springs, Curtis Scott of Walden, Amber Scott of Grand Junction and Easten Scott of Greeley; two great-grandchildren, twins Rex and Ruby Harrison; stepchildren, Allan (Cindi) Hunt and family, Cathy (Doug) Franklin and family, Ann (Sean) Anderson and family, Carl Stokes and family, Carla Hebert and family, David (Patty) Stokes and family, Jonathan (Glenda) Kerr and family, and Michael (Jean) Kerr and family.
Claire will be tremendously missed by his family and friends.
Claire was cremated by Northern Colorado Crematory and as per his wishes there will be no service but his ashes will be spread over his favorite hunting grounds by family and friends at a later date. His name will be engraved on his parents’ marker in Brush.
