Patricia A. Bornemeier, 87, of Greeley, passed away in hospice on October 5, 2017 in Loveland, Colorado. She was born to Robert and Jennie (Skeels) Benford on September 8, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Patricia married James M. Bornemeier on July 27, 1956 in Peru, Nebraska. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greeley. Patricia was an elementary school teacher with Weld County School District 6 for over 30 years. While working in District 6 she helped establish PEAK, the gifted and talented program. Patricia was also involved in many teacher organizations over the years. She was a charter member of the Greeley Chorale, and was the original librarian, then served as the historian until health issues no longer permitted. She loved helping plan their overseas tours, working on the Madrigal Feast, and performing with them. Music and the Greeley Chorale was always a big part of her life. Patricia also worked and volunteered at UCCC.
Patricia is survived by her children, Elaine (Wayne) Gould and Mark Bornemeier; grandchildren, Aaron (Corinne) Gould, and Addie (Ron) Johnson; great grandchildren, Alice Gould, Gaige Tuma, and Jaedon Tuma; and many friends and family.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, sister Kathlyn Reed, and grandson Brandon Gould.
Celebration of Patricia’s life will be held in December.
