Wesley Franklyn Finnell passed away, December 5, 2017 at home in Greeley. He was born to Artemas & Stella (James) Finnell, December 11, 1932 in Onalaska, Washington.
He met Wanda E Wagler in Sunday School at Dillard Methodist Church in Oregon, where they Married September 14, 1952, and enjoyed over 65 years of marriage.
He worked 38 years in the large sawmills as Head Saw Filer, working in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. When he started, he was the youngest head filer on the west coast, and one of 5 generations of saw filers in his family. He served 8½ years in the Oregon National Gard.
Wesley liked to hunt, fish, and travel. Owning several motorhomes, he visited most of the United States, and made a trip to Europe. He was a Master Mason for over 54 years and a Shriner. Wesley was a past President of the Douglas County Shriner Club, A.O.U.W, and the Good Sam Club. He served as Western Oregon Good Sam Director. While living in Washington, he helped to charter an RV Club, ‘The Evergreen Wheels.’
Wesley is survived by his wife; daughter, Denise (Micheal) Falls and son, Dennis Finnell both of Greeley; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a large loving extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; and a brother.
The family would like to thank Halcyon Hospice, Hearing Rehab Center, & Dr. Zenk, for all of their wonderful care.
