Gary R. Brown
April 16, 1946-March 25, 2018
On March 25, 2018, I joined my father Peurlie Ruel Brown and brother Elton Leroy Brown for a life of love and eternal joy.
On April 16, 1946, I entered the world, a second child to Peurlie R. and Loveranne A. Brown in Brush, Colo. As a young child, my home would be in Otis Colo. and later Akron Colo. I went to school in Akron Colo. graduating in 1964 from Akron High School. I went to work at Washington County Hospital /nursing home. From the support and encouragement, I enrolled in the practical nursing program at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colo. After graduating from the nursing program, I continued attending classes, graduating with Associates of Arts degree from NJC. While attending NJC I met my soul mate Vernell June Brown. We married June 26, 1966. She is the daughter of late Vernon and Arvilla Jean Buss Price.
I had started an educational and occupational career path, moving to Greeley in 1968. I applied for the new program of Registered Nursing offered at Colorado State College now known as the University of Northern Colorado. I graduated from UNC in 1971, passed state boards and secured my job as a Registered Nurse.
For the next forty-six years, I had the opportunity of working for Eastman Kodak Company, North Colorado Medical Center, Crawford and Company, Colorado Compensation Insurance Authority, CNA Insurance, and Life Care Center in Greeley.
I am survived by my ninety seven year old mother, Loveranne; and my lifelong friend and companion Vernell. One child was born, Colette June Brown Duran. She is the wife of Richard Kip Duran. Born to this union were Benjamin John Duran and Cody Michael Duran. They are currently living in Kearney, Mo.
Our son, Chad Jonatan Michael Brown was adopted from Guatemala City. He has three children, Tiauna Necole, Zachary Michael, and Colin Michael Lee Brown.
