Condolence: It is a very sad day for those who knew and loved your dad. He had become the vet for my critters back in 1972 probably soon after he graduated from CSU and helped me adopt my buddy, Spook, a Doberman, who had been left behind by his previous owner. When I had to put Spook down after 13+ years, Dr. Jim was there with me and cried with me when Spook was gone. Your dad was such a gentle soul and a wonderful veterinarian. Haven't been able to find one quite like your dad since. Praying for peace and comfort for all of you. Your dad will be sorely missed!
Condolence: To Jim, Elizabeth, and all of Dr. Emmett’s family- I’m so very sorry for your loss. Dr. Emmett was truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. My days at West Ridge Animal Hospital were some of the happiest of my teenage life, and I have stories and memories from my time
there that I’ll treasure for
a lifetime. Our little group
shared lots of laughter
and tears working with the
animals! I’ll be forever
grateful to Dr. Emmett for that experience and for
his guidance and friendship. My heartfelt condolences to his family, whom he loved so much.
Condolence: Dear Libby and Jimmy,
I know it's been eons of years since I worked with your Dad and Pam but those times will always be held close to my heart. I picture your Dad and Mom's dear faces and I know that at last they are together again...two very special people.
Per your requests, a donation was made to the Weld County Humane society in honor of Dr. E. Take care your two and God bless you both.
Condolence: I am so sorry to learn of the loss of Dr. Emmett. He was a wonderful person and an outstanding vet. He saw me through the lives of several beloved pets over many years and also introduced me to a few of his own. He actually finagled me into adopting a wonderful dog. I had lost a very beloved companion a few months prior to receiving a phone call from Dr. Emmett. He told me that animal control had brought in a dog who had been hit by a car. He had pieced her back together but said he'd have to put her to sleep if a home couldn't be found. I agreed to come take a look at her to see if I might know of someone who might like to adopt her. He took me back to her kennel and let her come greet me. She came over and put her head in my lap and looked into my eyes. She instantly found her new home. I was also fortunate to spend a day job-shadowing him at West Ridge and gained an even greater respect and admiration for this very skilled and compassionate man. His life was a wonderful and generous gift.
Condolence: It saddens me to learn of Dr. Emmett's passing. He was always very compassionate and patient with my beloved pets over the years, as he was with me as a teen-aged kennel kid at West Ridge Animal Hospital. His devotion to his domesticated, wild, furry and winged clients was admirable and he will be missed. My condolences to his family.
Condolence: We were saddened to hear of Dr. Emmett's passing. He was so kind to all of our pets, and on more than one occasion, when having to put them to sleep, he gave us a hug and held our hands as we all cried together. He always put his clients' pets' needs first. I will never forget when bringing my macaw in for check-ups, he would always say, "Mom, I want you to go sit in the waiting room for me." He knew my bird was anxious because I was anxious. It was always said in his calm voice and with his ever-present smile. He will be sorely missed by us as well as the entire community.
Condolence: I'm saddened to hear that Dr. Jim has died. He was wonderfully kind and supportive as I watched my dear little Topsy cat suffer and die from kidney failure. I will always be grateful to him for his generosity and his kindness.
Condolence: To Jim's family;
It was with great sadness that I read of Dr. Jim's passing this AM. We just don't expect that happening.
Not only was Jim a client of mine, but I considered him among those I called "A Friend." He was in that group of individuals I liked very much. I always enjoyed our meetings and in later years our chance meetings on the streets. He was always a pleasure to talk with. My sincere sympathy to all of Jim's family, especially those I knew very well.
Sincerely, Don Holtz
