William (Bill) John English, 74, of Greeley, unexpectedly passed away May 2, 2018 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado. He was born to William D. and Leah (Grasmick) English on January 7, 1944 in LA Junta, Colorado.
Bill was a longtime Greely Realtor and businessman. He began his career in the 1970's working for various Real Estate offices, and in 1994 he joined Fran Burns and formed English-Burns Reality. In 2007 the business was sold to Prudential Prime Properties. Bill continued to be an active agent the rest of his life, most recently with Aspencade Real Estate.
Bill was President of the Greeley Area Realtors Association 2 times, in 1997 to 1998 and in 2005 to 2006. He served on multiple committees involving real estate.
With his teaching of the Real Estate licensing courses at Aims, he influenced many people to pursue a successful career in Real Estate.
Bill befriended and "adopted" two special brothers, Jim and Timmy Humphrey.
Bill joined AA in 1976 and remained an active member throughout the rest of his life. He sponsored multiple people and helped them turn their life around. He considered his AA birthday to be just as important as his birth birthday.
Bill had an uncanny ability to see the humor in any situation. He used this ability to bring relief to many stressful situations.
Bill is survived by his “adopted family”, Jimmy (Kirsten) Humphrey, Timmy Humphrey and 4 grandchildren; siblings, Robert Dill and Charlotte Moore; nieces/ nephews, Mark (Alyssa) Hirsch, Laura (Joe) Collins, Brian Dill, and Angie (Bryant) Moore-Tucker.
Bill was preceded in death by his partner, Bill Miller, his parents, and his stepfather.
