Rose Cech, 99 of Greeley passed away peacefully on July 6, 2018 at her home with family by her side. She was born June 22, 1919 in Chicago, Illinoise to Vaclave (aka James) and Anna Konecny. Rose married Edward Cech II in 1946 and had two sons. In 1965 Ed and Rose moved their family from Chicago to Greeley so Ed could assist in the startup of the Monfort packing plant.
Rose enjoyed all the outdoors had to offer. For many years the family spent their summers in Union Pier, MI where Rose loved a refreshing swim in Lake Michigan. She enjoyed the family cabin located in Poudre Canyon, she golfed as often as possible and walked many of the parks around town. It was a joy for her to attend Chautauqua at Aims College and concerts at Greeley’s UCCC. She enjoyed traveling to Europe with friends and played competitive Bridge into her 90’s.
Rose developed Dementia at 92 and was able to continue living in her home until her death thanks to the loving care from her son, Jim and granddaughter, Melissa.
Rose is survived by her son, Jim (Joann) Cech ; daughter-in-law, Libby Cech; grandchildren, Edward (Marci) Cech IV, Melissa Cech; great-grandson, Ryan Cech; two sisters -in-law and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Edward Cech III; and sister, Ann Kropik.
The Cech family would like to thank the nurses of TRU Hospice for the tender care provided to Rose the last days of her life, especially Tarrah. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
