Condolence: We are so very sorry about Clyde. He was such a great man. We got to know him and Karen from the old days at the Lewiston Gun Club, and even more when the Gun Club members came to shoot at Colton. Clyde did a lot of gun work for us (including the Clyde slide) and I spent many hours in his shop. He always managed to fix me up! Clyde was always very helpful, patient, and kind. We definitely noticed when he moved away and was no longer at the Gun Club. We will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Condolence: Clyde was my go-to guy for any gun problems, and over the many years he and Karin and I became pretty good friends. I knew when I was headed to his shop that I better not have anything else planned for that afternoon because we'd be spending it in conversation and story-telling. The only problem I ever had with him was his insistence on finding me a boyfriend. I did finally get him over that. When he went to Colorado, Sundays at the gun club were not as fun and interesting. He was and is missed by many.
Condolence: After a hunting 2001 hunting accident left me blind in my shooting eye, Clyde graciously took me…a stranger… under wing and shared many an hour at the trap/skeet range helping get back on track. Shooting from the left side vs. my right was quite a challenge, but Clyde patiently shared numerous ideas on how to adjust as well as offering ongoing encouragement. He also introduced me to his friends at the Colton Gun Club after the Lewiston range closed.
I visited with him a few times at Senior Center luncheons before he moved, and sensed the deep hurt from the loss of his dear wife Ruby. Clyde was one of my favorite people and a prince of a guy. He will be dearly missed by so many folks, myself included.
