William “Bill” D. Thompson, 90, passed away on January 2, 2019, in Colorado. He was born October 27, 1928, to Rodney and Myrtle Thompson in Wapello, Iowa. He attended High School and graduated in 1947.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Kenneth Thompson; sister, Betty Malcom; and daughter, Penni.
Bill worked at International Harvester for 32 years, Hertz-Rent-A-Car for 8 years, and Avis Rental until he retired at 87 years of age.
Bill had 3 children; Mark, Mike, and Penni with his first marriage to Jean Kurvers.
Three years later, he married Sharon Thompson and raised her three small children; Mike, Lisa, and Terri Ramsey.
Bill and Sharon moved to Colorado in June to be near their 3 children, 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister, Judy St. Clair of Kahoka, Missouri.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorial gifts have been directed to First Baptist Church in Silvis, Illinois, where they served for 50 years.
