Obituary

Matias “Matt” Archibeque Jr. went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 25, 2019. Matt Archibeque was born on July 23, 1938 to Matias S. Archibeque and Mary Agnes DeHerrera in Pierce, CO.
He attended Pierce High School and entered the Unites States Army in 1962. Matt was stationed mostly stateside and honorably discharged in 1964 as a rank Specialist 5th Class.
After returning from the military, he was employed as a driller with Ed Lesh Well Drilling and also employed by Farmland Industries before entering his life-time career with Eastman Kodak in Windsor, CO. Matt received higher educational training through kodak to become a warehouse supervisor where he worked for 25 years before retiring.
After retirement in 1996, Matt enjoyed working on his little farm in Pierce, CO, where he planted his garden and raised animals. He cherished living on his farm where he was born and raised. Matt enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and had a deep passion for photography. He loved taking numerous pictures at family events and while travelling. He also spent many hours working on crossword puzzles.
Matt was full of life and because he had such a wonderful sense of humor, he would always make his family laugh with all the silly nick names he created for them. He has several children whom he loved immensely, and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Matt took delight in cooking for his grandchildren as they brought him much joy and happiness especially Destiny and Aalayah.
Matt was a loving and caring man who had many loves throughout his lifetime.
Toward the end of his life, he loved to read a variety of books, especially his Bible which led him to establish a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He suffered from congestive heart failure for over 15 years. A special thanks to Tru Hospice.
Matt is survived by his wife Carmen of 39 years, his sons Anthony, Frank, David and Leonard Archibeque, Adrian and Jimmy Salazar and Isaiah Perez, daughters Joyce Gonzales, Debra Garcia, Mary Ellen Martinez, Cathy Griego and Crystal Archibeque, stepdaughter JoAnn Martinez, and a special niece Diane Preciado. He is also survived by older brother Tony Archibeque of Cheyenne, WY, and Eugene Archibeque of Greeley, and one sister Florence (Frank) Maestas of Pierce. Matt is preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers Charles and Willie Archibeque, his three sisters Della Romero, Cora Chavez and Nyna Gonzales.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30th, 2019 at Mosaic Church
3451 23rd Ave, Evans, CO 80620

"My deepest sympathy to your family as you mourn the passing of Mr. Archibeque. I pray the resurrection promised by our Father in Heaven Jehovah, at the hands of Jesus Christ will comfort your hearts and help you to cope. God sees your tears, He hears your cries and will soon act to end this event that brings us all so much pain." 1 Thessalonians 4:14, Revelation 21:4, John 5:28,29,

Destinee Archibeque
