July 17, 1969 – May 30, 2020
Charlie Luark, of Kersey, Colorado, left his earthly home just before sunset, May 30, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.
Charlie was born on July 17, 1969, in Greeley, Colorado. He was a lifelong resident of Weld County. As a young man, Charlie grew up participating in 4-H, FFA, and always enjoyed anything that involved team roping. In 1990, Charlie married the love of his life, Melanie. It is with Melanie and daughter Dianne that he built a life he loved full of horses, dogs, roping, and friends. Charlie and Melanie have one daughter, Dianne (Britt) Bath, and their precious granddaughter, Blair, who has become the bright light in their life and has already shown her love for horses.
Charlie was a real talent on the back of a horse and especially in the team roping arena. He had many victories at team roping events all over the country. It was no secret, though he felt his most significant accomplishment was seeing his daughter Dianne reach her dreams in life and in the arena. Charlie was always anxious to know what rodeo Dianne was at, did she make it home safe and what were the results. He took great pride in having a hand with many horses Melanie and Dianne would compete on in the arena.
There will never be another cowboy, quite like him in their eyes. He was a quiet, kind, and gentle man who loved his way of life and his family. He will be greatly missed by his family, roping partners, and friends.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Melanie, daughter, Dianne (Britt) Bath, parents, Charles, Nancy (Gary), brother, Eric (Dione) Luark, sister, Jodi (Gary) Krautschun, in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew, roping partners, and many friends.
To honor and celebrate Charlie’s life, a service and team roping will be hosted by dear friends, Gary and Kacee Rodarmel of 5 Flat Productions, 34018 County Rd. 55, Gill, CO 80624 on June 13,2020, at 10:30 am.
