Obituary of Shirley Anne Vogel

Shirley Vogel, 80, of Greeley, Colorado went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2021 in Greeley. Shirley was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado to John & Frieda (Kissler) George on August 22, 1941. On December 10, 1965 in Greeley, Shirley married the love of her life, Vernon Vogel. Shirley was a beautiful person. She had gentle hands and the heart of a fighter. For someone who wanted her kids to be strong, she showed the greatest strength of all. Jesus gave us many extra years with mom, and I certainly enjoyed them all. She loved to cook, and all who ate never left hungry! Shirley loved animals & always had a dog that loved her too. Mom took pride in everything she did. And if you needed help in anyway, she would always be there. I am proud and grateful for my mom. I already miss her so very much. She was so tired that god came down from heaven, put his arms around her, and said come home with me my faithful daughter. Shirley is survived by her children, Carol Wiggins, and Susan (Kevin) Boyer; grandchildren, Prairie Boyer, Amber (Justin) Wurtz, and Michael (Liz) Cook; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor (Edward) Vogel; and a large loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Vogel; daughter, Sheryl Cook; grandson, Maculey Boyer-Brash; and parents. ‘Broken Chain’ We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone. For a part of us went with you, The day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories. Your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link Again. ~Ron Tranmer
